"LA LIBERTAD DE UNO ES LA LIBERTAD DE TODOS " 18 DE JUNIO: ÚNETE A LA ACTIVIDAD por Un Mundo sin Mordazas.
1) El 18 de junio, en la mayor cantidad de países que nos logremos organizar, protestaremos frente a la embajada o consulado de Venezuela correspondiente o frente a organizaciones internacionales relacionadas al tema de los Derechos Humanos.
2) La protesta consiste en manifestar llevando una mordaza roja comosímbolo de violación a la libertad de expresión.
3) Durante esta protesta se entregará un documento en rechazo al cierre de Globovisión y de cualquier medio de comunicación del mundo
La libertad de expresión está consagrada como un derecho humano fundamental y en un sistema de gobierno democrático debe ser promovido y defendido por el gobierno y los gobernados. Queremos alzar la voz en contra del cierre de cualquier medio decomunicación en cualquier país. Unamos nuestras voces para que sean escuchadas en todo el mundo ¡sin mordazas!
En Venezuela la libertad de expresión y la democracia están en peligro desde hace tiempo. El ataque más evidente fue el cierre de RCTV, un canal de televisión que tenía 50 años de operaciones. Se le quitó la licencia de transmisión y se robaron sus equipos con la excusa de que se había vencido su concesión. Una vez más los venezolanos se ven amenazados con el cierre de Globovisión, el único canal de 24 horas de noticias del país. ¡Se puede hacer realidad en cualquier momento! No hay ninguna explicación legal válida, es un hecho político, simplemente hay que silenciar al canal que no opina igual que el gobierno.
De concretarse el cierre de este medio cerrarían la única ventana televisiva que queda en Venezuela para denunciar las violaciones de derechos humanos

AMENAZA CONTUNDENTE. En el Aló Presidente Nº 330 Hugo Chávez, a propósito de la amenaza de cierre del canal Globovión, afirmó: "Pónganse a creer en cuentos de camino, burgueses, pitiyanquis. Pónganse a creer en que yo no me atrevo. Se pueden llevar una sorpresita en cualquier momento. Están jugando con fuego, manipulando, incitando al odio todos los días. Eso no va a continuar así".
